Accessibility Statement

Effective date: May 26, 2026 · Version 0.2

TakoTax's accessibility target is conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA for the public website and taxpayer-facing application flows that TakoTax controls.

Accessibility is part of filing readiness. If an accessibility barrier prevents a taxpayer from reviewing their return, understanding a diagnostic, consenting to a required disclosure, authorizing e-file, or finalizing review, that barrier can affect the taxpayer's ability to file correctly and on time.

Known limitations

We are actively remediating the items below. Where a flow is not yet fully accessible, the assisted path described under "Request an alternative method" provides direct help.

  • Some application screens are rendered with Flutter CanvasKit. Browser and assistive-technology support for the CanvasKit accessibility tree can vary, especially for complex controls.
  • Generated tax-form previews may not be fully tagged or navigable in every browser PDF viewer.
  • Some IRS and state source PDFs or form templates may contain accessibility limitations outside TakoTax's direct control.

Request an alternative method

If you cannot complete a flow because of an accessibility barrier, contact accessibility@tako.tax. Include the page or step, the assistive technology and browser you are using, the deadline if one applies, and a safe way to contact you.

Do not email Social Security numbers, tax documents, return PDFs, or other tax return information. TakoTax will route sensitive return-specific help through a secured in-app support path or another appropriate alternative rather than ordinary email.

How reports are handled

TakoTax reviews accessibility reports, prioritizes barriers that block filing or legal-consent steps, and tracks product changes needed to close confirmed issues. While we finish making these flows fully accessible, we provide a direct assisted path: we respond to accessibility requests within 2 business days, and within 1 business day if you tell us a filing deadline is within 10 days. The external audit and assistive-technology testing workstream is tracked outside this statement.
