Preparation and filing availability

TakoTax helps you prepare, review, and download covered tax-year 2025 federal forms in your browser. Check supported forms and current limitations before entering your information.

TakoTax does not submit returns to the IRS or state tax agencies. Filing is separate. The app does not currently calculate state returns or generate state forms.

We plan to add e-file in the future. There is no confirmed launch date or final filing scope. Availability, supported returns, pricing, and filing terms will be published before launch.

Before you start

Use a personal device and a current browser with JavaScript, WebAssembly, and local storage enabled. No account or installation is required for preparation. Gather your tax records, then open app.tako.tax.

Prepare and review

  1. Import supported tax documents or enter supported values manually.
  2. Compare the values with your records and correct errors or omissions.
  3. Answer the return questions and resolve any blocking warnings.
  4. Review the generated federal forms before downloading them for separate filing.

If required information is outside the supported scope, use another preparation method. TakoTax does not provide tax advice or a professional review of your return.

Saving your work

Your project is saved in this browser. Project backup and import are unavailable; TakoTax cannot recover a project after its browser storage is deleted. Keep your source documents and download completed forms when available. See local save and recovery.

If something looks wrong

Check troubleshooting or contact support. Do not email tax documents, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive information.
