TakoTax does not submit returns to the IRS or state agencies today. It helps you prepare, review, and download generated forms for separate filing. Built-in e-file is unavailable.

Projects are saved in local browser storage. TakoTax does not provide cloud sync, account recovery, server-side backup, or project file export/import yet. Clearing browser storage permanently deletes the project.

Federal, state, input document, and output form support vary. Check coverage before relying on TakoTax for a specific return.

The estimated-tax safe-harbor calculator can help you estimate a quarterly target. TakoTax does not currently generate Form 1040-ES vouchers or payment instructions.

TakoTax is software. It cannot decide whether a tax position applies to you, classify ambiguous income, or respond to tax notices.

If you find a bug, confusing result, or documentation gap, report it with enough detail to reproduce the issue. Do not send sensitive tax documents or Social Security numbers by email.

TakoTax can start an amendment workflow only from a return originally finalized in TakoTax for the current supported tax year. It does not currently generate or file a complete Form 1040-X amendment. Changes saved in TakoTax do not amend a return already filed; follow current IRS instructions or use another preparation method.
