Choose supported PDFs

TakoTax reads supported tax documents from PDFs with selectable text. Check the supported forms page for document coverage and limitations. Scanned images without a text layer cannot be read automatically.

Review extracted values

Add your document in the app. During normal preparation, document processing happens in your browser. Compare extracted values with the original document and correct errors or omissions before continuing.

Extraction can be incomplete even for a recognized form. Review names, amounts, withholding, and the tax year. See reviewing data.

If a document cannot be read

Try a PDF with selectable text or use manual entryfor supported forms and facts. Manual entry does not add support for an unsupported tax situation. If information required for your return is unsupported, use another preparation method.
